Normal business was resumed this month after we took a summer break for August, we’re ready to crack the whip and get all our Metis Women back on track and running full steam ahead towards the end of the year.
With a full room of members and a good sprinkling of first time visitors, Ali Hollands kicked off proceedings on behalf of the Maidstone team.
Up first was our fabulous Elite member Helen Willsher from Exquisite Salon Success, taking on the Learn Session. She focused on something which we can all too easily take for granted, and that is customer retention. So many companies focus on business development, and as Helen pointed out, the majority of most businesses get their income from just a small percentage of their customers, so they deserve to have the VIP treatment in return for their loyalty (and hopefully some referrals!). In Helen’s role as guru to spas and salons, she advises on the special touches that they can put into place to ensure that customers return time and again, and we were lucky to glean some of that knowledge. It’s important to understand what our clients and customers would like to see from us, and how we can make them feel special.
Following on from Helen’s inspiring session, an incredibly moving talk from Metis Women founder Caroline Love, from Caroline Love Coaching, talking us through her immensely personal journey on how she found her niche as a work/life balance coach. It just reminds us how wide-ranging our experiences are and how we all took such different paths to end up as entrepreneurs. Thank you Caroline for sharing your story with us, it definitely makes us think about our priorities in life. (Oh, and congratulations on the wing walk, AMAZING achievement, you go girl!)
The Juice Executive provided our healthy snack this month, and with a rainbow of juices and flavours including carrot, ginger and beetroot, we definitely felt the excesses of the summer holidays draining away. Thanks for our lovely shots of goodness!
Then Andrea Beadle was up to feedback on how she’s got on since her collaboration slot. We’re delighted to report that she’s been working on her business over the summer period, and is a lot clearer on her direction as a life-centred business. There’s plans for an academy, which we can’t wait to hear about.
Kathryn Cooper from Kathryn Cooper Jewellery then took the stand to get some advice about rejuvenating her jewellery parties, and there were some great ideas around the room, including a potential afternoon tea collaboration and bespoke offerings for men. With so many ideas it’s going to be interesting to see which ones Kathryn takes on board.
So again, back on track with commitments, and there’s many goals being set that we’ll be checking up on next month, no more getting away with it now!
We were also delighted to announce the launch of our next group taking place in Dartford in just a few weeks. So please show your support and visit us on 2nd October at Birchwood Park Golf Centre, more details on the website. We’ve got another fab team in place, and we can’t wait to introduce them to you.
Otherwise, we’ve got Faversham on 18th September, and back here in Maidstone on 10th October, so book your place now through our events page.
