Getting your head back in the game

As we round the corner from the Summer holidays towards the end of the year, do you have your head in the plans for the last few months, or still on the beach? Let’s look at some of the things to consider for completing the year on a high.

Where should you be? – Did you have any plans mapped out for the year such as Sales Targets or number of new Clients you wanted to achieve. Have a look back over those plans or targets and see where you are so far. Are you smashing it, or wide of the mark? What do you need to focus on now to get those figures and plans achieved or exceeded in the final months?

Focus, Focus, Focus – Are you trying to juggle too many areas? Perhaps the last few months have meant your focus has been elsewhere, well now is the time to rein it back in and clear a bit of the head clutter. What are the key areas you need to focus on going forward, and what needs to be tidied up or put away – both physically and mentally – to allow you to do that effectively.

Something Old – What have you used in the past that has helped boost your sales? It may be an email campaign you have used, or some advertising you have done. What is it that brings in the leads/sales – perhaps it is your past customer referrals? Contact previous Clients to get back in touch. Remind them of you as a courtesy catch-up, or ask for a testimonial or referral.

Something New – Do you have a new product, service, idea or marketing campaign that you are waiting to launch? Well get it out there. If there are some final bits to get in place then chase it up, or give it a final push on your focus. Feel free to let us know on the Facebook page about anything new you are launching.

Something Borrowed – Do you have an inbox full of emails from others? Perhaps some marketing ones you have subscribed to, or regular emails you receive. Or maybe you have read an interesting article, or something is happening in your industry. What is it that makes you open and read them? ‘Borrow’ a headline, idea for content, or method of execution and get your own content or campaign out there raising awareness for you.

Something Blue – Hmm! I may have used this cliché phrase without a final credible option…. Here Goes – Have a rant. Did you have the summer from hell, or has something wound you up? Get it off your chest and move on. It’s done and over, dwelling on it is just going to ruin more of your time and energy. You’re better than that.

Plan it in – Have a look over your forthcoming calendar and see if it fits with what you want to achieve. Does it have the time put aside for your new plans? Have you changed your schedule recently and your week no longer reflects that? Take 30 mins now to look over what your diary and schedule needs to look like to keep you on track for the next few weeks. It will make a big difference. Flying by the seat of your pants is not a good plan!

Make these last 4 months really count towards an outstanding year – and if you need a bit of help, post a request in the Facebook Group, or book a Collaboration Spot and get a whole roomful of other minds focussing on you and your business.

Change of Learn Session – Maidstone Fri 8th

There is a change to the scheduled Learn Session at Maidstone next week. Instead we have Founder Deborah Mulvany, who will be talking about Dream boards & Vision boards. What are they and how can they help you, your life and your business. This under used technique can bring vital clarity to your business – if you allow yourself to be creative. Learn why and how to create a vision board and most importantly how to interpret what you create.

Apps – Snipping Tool

This is a useful tool available in Windows 10. Type ‘Snip’ into the search bar in the start menu and it should come up. You can grab a full screenshot (useful if you are watching a webinar and want to grab the slide on the screen for later), or use the tool to grab a section of the screen. I have used it to put images and documents etc into emails, webinars, courses and talks. You can even draw or highlight areas of the snipped image for notes or showing important content. A worthwhile app for your tool arsenal – give it a try.
