Metis Woman LogoSo we come to the end of 2014, and 2015 is knocking on the door, and we’re looking forward to all the opportunities and plans it’s bringing.

But before we embrace a new year, it’s a good place to stop and look back over the last 12 months and how far we, and you, have come. Our theme for the December meetings was celebrating, and yes, we were marking the festive season (with the help of amazing and exquisite cupcakes from Beverley Adams-Reynolds), but also the achievements of each and every Metis Women member.

As you know, we’ve celebrated our first year of Metis Women, and we’re growing stronger than ever. Our membership is increasing each month, and we’re so delighted at the popularity of our Elite Membership option too. We’ve just held the first Mastermind meeting for our second group of Elite members, and there’s plans, goals and targets aplenty to be met over the next three months, some really exciting developments in the pipeline, which I’m sure the ladies will share with you in due course. In addition, our mentor system is working really well, as part of the Elite membership, you’re paired up with a fellow Metis Woman and are encouraged to meet/keep in contact regularly to help each other to keep on track, regularly revisiting your business objectives and bounce ideas off each other.

We started the year with one monthly meeting in Faversham, and in October, we launched our third group in Dartford, following a successful launch in Maidstone. But don’t think we’re stopping there – we’ve got plans for other locations over Kent, and hope to increase the number of groups by the same amount in 2015. So plenty more opportunities to meet, support and collaborate with like-minded female entrepreneurs, we can’t wait to meet more of you.

But of course, don’t take our word for it about how great our Metis Women members are, we’ve managed to make our mark on the awards circuit this year at both the Kent Women in Business awards and also the Kent Independent Traders awards. From our founders and Elite members, to members and regular guests, there have been winners, runners up and finalists in a variety of categories, we’re so proud of all of you, and what you have achieved.

In the spirit of Metis Women, we’ve also been delighted at how many of you have partnered together and collaborated on various different projects; there have even been new companies formed, and we wish you every success in your new ventures and look forward to hearing more about them.

So, as you can see, it’s been a busy year, and we’ve only managed a whistle-stop review in this blog, there’s almost too much to mention here. 2015 is already shaping up to be a good one too, we love hearing what you’re all up to, keep in touch with us on our Facebook pages, and share your successes.

Finally, and most importantly, have a wonderful Christmas and New Year with family and friends, and we’ll see you at our January meetings. (Click here for dates, and to book your spot).

From Amanda, Caroline, Deborah and Karen.
